Once the printer is connected to the network, then assign a static IP to the printer: Changing this from TCP/IP to LPR, and adding lpd://Printer_Name to the Printer/Queue Name box enabled me to see the printer from the MacBook.
I have removed and reinstalled the printer and restarted the print server to no avail.
